Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Friendly Description: Natural Language Processing, or NLP, is the part of AI that deals with human language, written or spoken. It's the field that figures out how to teach a computer to read your message, understand what you mean, and respond in a way that makes sense. Almost everything you do that involves talking or typing to a computer relies on NLP.

Example: When you ask a smart speaker, "What's the weather tomorrow?" NLP turns your spoken words into text, figures out you're asking about a forecast for a particular day and place, looks up the answer, and helps phrase the reply in plain English. Several NLP steps happen in that one short interaction.
