LLM (Large Language Model)

Level 1

Short Description

A neural network trained on vast amounts of text to predict and generate human-like language.

Friendly Description: A Large Language Model, or LLM, is an AI that has read a huge amount of text and learned how language works. By practicing on books, articles, and websites, it learned grammar, facts, conversation styles, even humor. When you ask it something, it uses everything it learned to write a thoughtful, human-sounding reply.

Example: When you chat with ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, you're talking to an LLM. You can ask it to draft an email, explain a tricky topic, brainstorm names for a new pet, or even rewrite a paragraph in a different tone, all because it has read enough to handle just about any kind of language task.
